Awareness Programs
A youth in Red Cross is defined as someone who is between the age of 7 and 30 years. Most of the youth with in this age bracket are students in either primary, secondary or tertiary learning institutions. The school program is geared towards empowering students, to impact them with knowledge and skills beyond the typical classroom through initiatives and programs like Road Safety; Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights; Service Learning such as Volunteerism, Internships and Attachments; among many others.
The program is subdivided into 3 groups based on the age and school level of the students i.e. Junior Primary Red Cross Clubs, Junior Secondary Red Cross Clubs and University / College Chapters. All these clubs and chapters have a student leadership structure that ….
Capacity Development
Youth have been capacitated to develop and implement sustainable youth-led projects responding to challenges and thereby contributing to national development in the youth space.
Local Action
Young people take action on challenges in their communities and speak up on youth issues through relevant bodies hence influence youth policy.
Advocacy
New and already existing structures and networks for youth are developed or strengthened hence contributing to their engagement in the national development.
