Doris Mwikali is the National Youth Climate Action Program Lead at the Kenya Red Cross. As the focal person on this thematic issue, Doris is spearheading meaningful youth engagement of Kenya Red Cross volunteers and young people to adapt, learn and thrive in the face of the climate crisis. Her passion for climate action justice has been nurtured by her tenure as partnerships lead for the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) -Youth Action Hub , Kenya. She is also a member of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization ( UNESCO) – SDG4 Youth Network where she works to advocate for climate action education as a foundational element to effectively addressing the climate crisis.
Additionally, Mwiklai works as a Youth Leader at the Center for International Private Enterprise, an affiliate of the US Chamber of Commerce. Her work at CIPE is focused on the financial inclusion of refugees in Kenya.
